What tire work involves

Fitting, balancing, rotating, repairing or seasonally swapping tires. A swap moves wheels you already own; a fitting mounts new rubber onto rims and balances each wheel.

Signs you may need it

  • Tread is near the wear bars moulded into the grooves
  • The car pulls to one side, or the steering wheel vibrates at highway speed
  • Uneven wear across a tire’s width, which usually means alignment or pressure, not the tire
  • Cracking in the sidewall, or a bulge — a bulge means replace it now

What to ask the shop

  • Is balancing included, and are new valve stems part of the price?
  • Is this per tire or for the set?
  • Do you charge to store my off-season set?
  • Does the car need an alignment as well, and can you show me why?
